Integrated Circuits Lab is a special lab for the students who are pursuing undergraduate programs in the field of electronics and communication, Electrical and Computer science engineering. In this lab students can perform experiments in Digital Electronics and Linear Integrated circuits. Different experiments such as logic gates,encoders, decoders, multiplexers, operational amplifiers, filters and oscillators are carried out.

Digital Signal Processing Laboratory is Equipped with Hardware such as DSP Processor kits, OMAP Kits and Software such as MATLAB, Scilab etc.The students understand various concepts in signal processing through simulation using MATLAB and implementation using processor kits.

DESCRIPTION OF THE LAB

The Microprocessor and Microcontroller lab enables students to carry out assembly language programming, for microprocessors (8085 & 8086) and microcontroller (8051).Various experiments are also performed using the hardware such as Serial and Parallel interfacing, Stepper Motor, ADC/DAC interfaces. Students use the MACRO Assembler simulator (MASM) to execute Assembly language programming on a PC.

The students learn to design digital circuits using the various hardware description languages and also their implementation on FPGAs.The students are able to design, simulate, extract the layouts of analog IC blocks using EDA tool.

The optical communication lab enables students to gain knowledge of the working of an optical communication system. Students also analyze the characteristics of optical sources such as LED& LASER, and optical detector like PIN photodiode and fibers. In Microwave Lab students get an opportunity to understand the working principle of various microwave components & its characteristics including S-parameter, Attenuation and Power measurements,to measure and plot the radiation pattern of horn antenna.

The Communication System Lab is an advance lab for the post graduate students. Inthis lab, students demonstrate the different experiments like s-parameters of the devices, design of RF components ,Design of Advanced Microstrip Antennas, Understanding GPS parameters etc. The lab is also equipped with ADS software that the students use for antenna design.
