“Entrepreneur is person who recognizes the opportunities when others see the confusion.”

The growth and prosperity of all economies remains highly dependent on entrepreneurial activity. Our institution is being run by an entrepreneur who continuously strives in creating successful a business is the key factor in establishing this cell.



Objective of EDTIC

The core objective of EDTIC is to promote entrepreneurship among the students and guide them to start their own enterprise.

  • Promote entrepreneurship culture and make it their desire
  • Strengthen entrepreneurs through proper mentorship and networks.
  • Incorporate the importance of entrepreneurship in engineering education.
  • Identifying the needs of local community, availability of resources and opportunities thereby creating employment opportunities to ensure socio-economic balance

Vision

To create an ecosystem which inculcate entrepreneurship among students and startups thereby brings out a reasonable change in the society.

Mission

  • To create Entrepreneurial Culture among the students of Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology.
  • To train the students with potentiality to become entrepreneurs, providing them support to move forward and doing real life projects on entrepreneurship.
  • To know the sources of help and support available for starting a Micro Small Medium industries.
  • To create technology awareness and to support the existing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of our region through Business Incubation.

Goals of EDTIC

Long Term Goals
  • To identify the areas that are of importance to the people of India in fostering Entrepreneurship and bringing down the unemployment rate of qualified Engineering/Diploma students.
  • To conduct the entrepreneurship courses, diploma, PG diploma courses and certification courses along with the partnership of government/University/private organization /NGO.
  • To conduct orientation programme for the public to attract them into establishing their own enterprises.
Short Term Goals
  • To motivate students to undergo Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP), skill development training and enhance self employment opportunities.
  • Conducting Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps (EAC), Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDP), Faculty Development programs (FDP), Skill development programs (SDP) for the student and faculties of our region.
  • Arranging interaction with entrepreneurs and create a mentorship scheme for student entrepreneurs.
  • Organizing business plan competitions for every year.
  • Starting Incubator which fills the gap between education and employment. This includes Identification of interested students ,Identification of a project, Analysis of the project, , Project implementation, Project testing, Getting Feedback from the end user, Project modification (if necessary) and finally project branding.

Three Days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp - 14.07.16 to 16.07.16

Entrepreneurship Development and Technology Incubation Cell (EDTIC) of DGCT initiated 3 Days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) sponsored by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India from 14-7-2016 to 16-7-2016.Photogallery

The chief guest of the day was an eminent Entrepreneur Mr. Vimalan, Chairman of CII, Salem. In his inaugural address, he stated that the Chairman of DGCT Prof. Dhirajlal A. Gandhi was a great source of inspiration to him. He emphasized the need for entrepreneurship and highlighted how the entrepreneurial network has changed the quality of life in recent times. He urged the participants to take maximum advantage of the growing economy by venturing in to their own business. To be a successful entrepreneur, the chief component is a strong attitude with intelligent output and by starting small and medium level of industries with firm willpower in turn leads to outstanding entrepreneurs.

Prof. Dhirajlal A. Gandhi, Chairman of DGCT delivered the Presidential Address. He quoted his own hurdle filled experiences to show the reality of the successful entrepreneurship. He advised the students to have a strong passion to reach the optimistic end in the technology based entrepreneurship. He also stressed to update their entrepreneurial knowledge and be unique before starting the industry to become a successful entrepreneur. He insisted youths to realize their hidden potential and develop their capabilities to meet the challenges ahead by acquiring entrepreneurial traits of risk taking, creative thinking, and problem solving skill.

This awareness camp enabled the participants to understand their aspirations, inclinations and passions and then shape up their career option accordingly.

Special Session with Purple Squirrel Eduventures

Date:24.02.2016

The session was take over by the speaker of the day Mr. Rajesh ( Senior Associate- Institute Relations (South), Purple Squirrel Eduventures) , who dealt about the main objective of PSQ and how the company gives a new dimension to the Industrial Visit so that the main purpose of the Industrial Visit could be ultimately achieved. The audience which consisted of students from ECE and CSE were so curious to put forward many queries during the Q & A session.

Illuminate Workshop - 02.10.2015

E-cell, IIT-Bombay and Our EDTIC Cell is jointly organized the workshop ILLUMINATE for budding Entrepreneurs. This workshop completely deals with B-plan making and Finance Funda. Mr.Rohit Lalwani , Entrepreneurship Coach, CIIE IIM Ahmadabad & IIT-Bombay & Karagpur, SRM Chennai has conducted the workshop as a trainer. He discussed about the need for Entrepreneur in India and the opportunities and challenges in Entrepreneurship. Previously, Principal Dr.Murali Baskar welcomed the participants, Secretary Srimathi.Archana Manojkumar explains various activates and achievements of EDTIC Cell. Around 100 participants from various organizations and Institutions ( CII,Jc’s , Entrepreneurs, BNI ,students etc..)has participated in the workshop

Seminar -BE A BOSS - 13.07.2015

A Seminar on “BE A BOSS” has presented by Mr. R.Gopinath , CEO - Confidence Unlimited , Regional Director of BNI-Salem. He conducted many activities to motivate the students for their enthusiastic involvement of projecting new ideas. He also highlighted many entrepreneurs who have achieved their goals of success. Dr. V.Murali Bhaskaran, Principal, Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology has welcomed all dignitaries, faculties and students. Mr.Shankar, Director , Placement & Training shared his personal experience and stories of well known successful entrepreneurs.

Guest Lecture - 20.01.2015

A Guest lecture on “Traits of an Entrepreneur”has presented by Lion.Rajesh Kannan M.Phil,HDCM, Leadership Trainer and Motivational Speaker, Chennai. He conducted many activities to motivate the students for their enthusiastic involvement of projecting new ideas. He also highlighted many entrepreneurs who have achieved their goals of success.


Inauguration - 20.01.2015

The Entrepreneurship Development and Technology Incubation Cell were inaugurated in our institution under the presence of Mr.Dhirajlal A Gandhi, Chairman, Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology on 20.01.2015 at 10.30 A.M at College Conference hall. He addressed the students about the importance and necessity of entrepreneur to enhance the economic development of a country.

Er.Govindarajan, Joint Director/General Manager, District Industries Centre, Salem was invited as chief guest to facilitate the function. He had shared the various loans and schemes available for young entrepreneurs. Mr.K.Saravanakumar, Managing Director, Print Magic, Salem has invited as a special guest. He had shared lot of his personal experience on either ends of success and failure in progressing his business. He also conveyed to become an entrepreneur one should have self confidence, boldness, dedication, desire, leadership qualities, and spirit to keep search for something new.

Dr. V.Murali Bhaskaran, Principal, Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology has welcomed all dignitaries, faculties and students. Dr.Muthukumar Subramanyam Head of the Department, Computer Science and Engineering have presented the introduction about the program.

Mrs.Archana Manjokumar , Secretary, Dhirajlal Gandhi College of Technology presented the vote of thanks and also appreciated the students who had participated National Entrepreneurship Competition - 2014(NEC).
